While he was in college, Art Van Rooy enlisted in the US Navy and in 1966 was sent to Vietnam as a Deck Officer for Naval Support in Saigon. Van Rooy reflects on his duty as an officer of a machine gun nest on top of a BOQ (Bachelors Officers Quarters) during the Tet Offensive, the politics of the war, and his subsequent career as a Navy Supply Corps Commander.
