Carol Fair

Carol Fair was 22-years-old when she was approached by an Army Special Services Recruiter at the University of Iowa. The recruiter told her that the war in Vietnam was winding down and that she would be sent to Europe, where she could extensively travel while getting paid. An enticing offer, Fair signed up. Little did she know that the war in Vietnam was far from over in June of 1969, and she was soon sent orders to report to Vietnam. Fair speaks of her daily duties, her experiences with the soldiers, and her reflections of the war today.
