James Laswell
James Laswell, who served 6 tours during the Vietnam War, quotes L/Cpl Edwin L. “Tim” Craft's famous words from the Battle of Khe Sanh: "For those who fought for it, freedom has a flavor that the protected will never know." As he survived the Attack on Pearl Harbor and watched his father break enemy codes that exposed the Battle of the Midway, Laswell was compelled to join the Navy. In 1963, Laswell was commissioned as an Ensign, and 20 years later retired as a Commander. One of the first people to arrive in Vietnam and last to leave, Laswell recounts his many vastly different experiences from the war and his career.
