John Vickers served as an Army Engineer for over 30 years. He started his career on July 7, 1953, his first day of West Point, and after being number one in his class all four years graduated as Valedictorian. He served in Korea after the Korean War, completed many levels of Army schooling, and on November 11, 1967, arrived in Vietnam. Over the course of his two tours, Vickers received 4 Bronze Stars, the third highest medal of valor one can receive in the Army. In his conversation, Vickers recounts his career before Vietnam, his different missions in Vietnam, and his career after Vietnam.
