At his college graduation in 1966, Scott Wilson, Sr. watched Robert McNamara receive an honorary degree. Two years later in 1968, Wilson was on the USS Reaper Mine Sweeper off the coast of Mui Bui Bong fighting McNamara's war. Wilson completed Officer Candidate School with a specialization in mine sweepers, and served on the USS Reaper for one year. In his conversation, Wilson recalls the immense responsibilities as a 22-year-old officer, his role in Operation Market Time, and assimilating to civilian life after the war.
